Worker is Killed at Allis Plant
A one-ton steel plate fell on Peter Vicker, 34, Milwaukee, and killed him yesterday at the Allis-Chalmers manufacturing company's West Allis plant where he was employed. He is survived by his wife, three children, two brothers and six sisters.

Walter William Sniadajewski was born on 8 May 1923 at Plover, Portage Co, WI. He was the son of Francis Sniadajewski and Cecelia Szczesny. Walter William Sniadajewski married Jeanette Eikendorf on 28 May 1949 at Plover, Portage Co, WI. Walter William Sniadajewski died on 7 October 2006 at Sheboygan, Sheboygan Co, WI, at age 83.

Walter W. Sniadajewski, 83, of 3111 Tommy's Turnpike, Plover, died Saturday Oct. 7, 2006, at the Stevens Point Care Center.
He was born May 8, 1923, in Plover to the late Frank and Cecilia (Szczesny) Sniadajewski. He attended McDill Grade school and St. Bronislava Religion Classes. Walter worked on his father's farm and Joerns Bros. Furniture factory until entering into the U.S. Army.
He entered the U.S. Army on Feb. 27, 1943, at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He received basic and advanced training with the 78th Lightning division at Camp Butner, N.C. and in West Virginia. He was sent to Oran, Algeria, then to Naples, Italy, and joined the 45th Thunderbird Division 5th Army on the Anzio beachhead in February 1944, participating in the liberation of Rome. On Aug 15, 1944, the 45th Division 7th Army took part in the invasion of Southern France. He fought through France and Germany and was in Munich when Germany surrendered May 7, 1945.
Walter attained the rank of rechnical seargent in charge of light weapons platoon. He participated in the Rome Arno, southern France, Rhineland and central Europe campaigns. He received the combat infantry badge with Bronze Star Medal, Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theatre ribbon with four bronze stars and one bronze arrowhead, the Good conduct Medal and three Overseas Service Bars.
He also received a 'Thank You America Certificate' from the French Government in 2002. He was honorably discharged Nov. 21, 1945, at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He personally built his home on Tommy's Turnpike in 1949. He married Jeanette Eickendorf on May 28, 1949. She died Nov. 7, 1990.
After the service, Walter worked at Joerns Bros. Furniture Co. until 1951. He then worked at Preway Inc. from 1951 to 1985. During lay offs at Preway, he did cement work and worked for Motor Castings, Ace Foods, Allen Bradley and A.J. Lindman & Hoverson Co. in Milwaukee. He also worked for the Soo Line paint crew in Somerset and the Soo Line carpenter crew on the docks in Ashland.
Walter was a member of the American Legion Post No. 543 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10262. He enjoyed gardening, coon hunting, playing horseshoes, hosting family get togethers and being entertained by his grandchildren and great grandson.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary (Jim) Claridge of Brooklyn, and Terry (Jim) Sorensen of Plover; seven sons, Joe (Sandy) of Plover, Bill (Debbie) of Plover, Frank of Plover, Jim (Deb) of Amherst, Wally (Cheryl) of Plover, Edward (Laura) of Plover, and Tom (Lori) of Stevens Point; ten grandchildren, Jamie (Dan) Gollon, Sarah (Shawn) Dawson, Deana & Cassy Sorenson, Brandon, John, Rachel, Jacob, Amy and Emily Sniadajewski; one great-grandson, Dakota Gollon; and two brothers, Peter Sands of South Milwaukee and Leo Sniadajewski of Whiting.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a grandson, Kirk Sniadajewski; and three sisters, Hedwig and Agnes Sniadajewsk and Katherine Flatoff.

Mrs. SNIADAJEWSKI was a former 4-H leader, an avid bingo player and baseball fan.
She was a member of the St. Bronislava Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 543. Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Jim) CLARIDGE, Brooklyn, and Therese (James) SORENSEN, Plover; seven sons, Joseph (Sandy), William (Debbie), Frank, Walter J. (Lavonne), Edward (Laura) and Thomas (Lori), all of Plover, and James (Debbie), town of Stockton; one brother, Maurice (Ann) EICHENDORF, Stevens Point; three sisters, Loretta STERLING, Plover, Carol (Richard) PLISKA, Plover, and Joyce FARLEY, Largo, Fla; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mrs. SNIADAJEWSKI was a former 4-H leader, an avid bingo player and baseball fan.
She was a member of the St. Bronislava Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 543. Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Jim) CLARIDGE, Brooklyn, and Therese (James) SORENSEN, Plover; seven sons, Joseph (Sandy), William (Debbie), Frank, Walter J. (Lavonne), Edward (Laura) and Thomas (Lori), all of Plover, and James (Debbie), town of Stockton; one brother, Maurice (Ann) EICHENDORF, Stevens Point; three sisters, Loretta STERLING, Plover, Carol (Richard) PLISKA, Plover, and Joyce FARLEY, Largo, Fla; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Angeline E. (Elizabeth) Danczyk, 92, 2613 Willow Springs Drive, town of Dewey, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 10, 1999, at her home.
Services were held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Torun. The Rev. Mark Danczyk officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Danczyk was born Feb. 25, 1907, in Laona, a daughter of the late John and Martha (Szczesny) Dulak. She moved to the town of Dewey in 1911, where she attended Rockland School.
She was married to Bernard 'Barney' Danczyk on Nov. 3, 1925, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Torun. After their marriage, the couple settled in the town of Hull, where farmed all their lives. He died June 13, 1974.
Mrs. Danczyk worked as a school clerk for 12 years for Torun School until the school district was consolidated. She was a member of the St. Mary of Torun Rosary Society and was a minister of prayer and praise. She enjoyed gardening, canning fruits and vegetables. She also enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader, both in English and Polish.

He was a member of American Legion Post 6 and St. Peter Holy Name Society.

Joseph J. KRYSHAK, 89, 1233 Washington Ave., died Saturday morning at his home.
Services will be held at 11 :30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Leo SCHNIEDER will officiate. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Dzikoski/Pisarski Funeral Home. A general rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established in his name to Pacelli High School.
Mr. KRYSHAK was born June 25, 1898, in Stevens Point, son of the the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper KRYSHAK. He attended local schools. He served in US Navy during WWI.
He was employed at Consolidated Papers, Stevens Point Division for 43 years, retiring in 1963 as a superintendent.
He was a member of American Legion Post 6 and St. Peter Holy Name Society.
Mr. KRYSHAK was married to Anna Marie VICKER on Aug. 17, 1920, at St. Peter Church. They settled at their present address. She died Aug. 26, 198

Mr. Richard James Chesney, age 77, passed away Saturday evening, October 5, 2002, at a Kalamazoo nursing home following a long illness. He was born to John & Anna (Broton) Szczesny in Stevens Point, WI on October 31,1924 and moved to Muskegon, MI and later to Muskegon Hts., MI with his family as a child where he remained a life long resident. He married the former Catherine Segelstrom in Muskegon on January 27, 1965. She preceded him in death on May 27, 1992. Richard graduated from Muskegon Hts. High School where he played football with the MHHS Tigers and was a retiree of Sealed Power Corp. after more than thirty years of service. He was a member of the Polish Falcons and a life member of V.F.W. Post 3195. Mr. Chesney was a decorated veteran of WWII, receiving the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal w/2 Bronze Stars w/Bronze Arrowhead and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon w/2 Bronze Stars. He is survived by 2 sisters, Carolyn Chesney (Robert) Moore of Mobile, AL and Dorothy Chesney Borup of Groveland, CA, and several nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at the Lee Funeral Home, Friday 1 p.m. with Fr. Thomas J. Brown officiating. Military rites under the auspices of V.FW. Post 3195. Friends may meet with the family one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers, the fami1y requests that donations be made to the V.F.W. Post 3195 or to a charity of their choice.
