Theresa (Tessie) Stoltz, 86, of 4056 Jordan Lane, Stevens Point, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at St. Michael's Hospital of Stevens Point due to complications.
A Mass officiated by Father Al Jakubowski will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at St. Stanislaus Catholic church in Stevens Point. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Theresa was born Aug. 22, 1922, in the town of Sharon, daughter of the late August and Victoria (Trzebiatowski) Kranski. Theresa was one of 17 children.
Theresa was married to Phillip Stoltz on July 6, 1946. They moved to Stevens Point to work and start a family. Theresa was a stay-at-home mother and raised three children. Theresa was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Stanislaus Parish. Theresa loved to read, reminisce of the past and listen to polkas. She was known as Grandma Tess to many. She loved her grandchildren. They were her treasures and she always looked forward to their visits. Theresa will be missed by her pet sheltie, Sara, which spent many hours each day by her side. Theresa enjoyed her past 16 years of life residing with her daughter and son-in-law.
Theresa was preceded in death by her son, Patrick, husband, Phil, 11 brothers and four sisters.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Donald Stoltz (Laurie Berger), Stevens Point, Gary (Lori), Stevens Point, daughter, Mary (Andy) Olander, Stevens Point, grandchildren, Kyle Stoltz, Nathan Stoltz, Ryan Stoltz, grandchild, Kristine (Scott) Clark, brother, Felix (Jean) Kranski, Rosholt, numerous nieces and nephews and her many friends.

Joseph Stoltz was born on 2 February 1888 at Portage Co, WI.1 He was baptized on 3 February 1888 at St. Casimir Church, Town of Hull, Portage Co, WI.1 He was the son of Augustinus 'August' Johaan Stoltz and Frances Lukowicz. Joseph Stoltz married Genevieve Waldoch on 23 November 1909. Joseph Stoltz married Agnes Weronski in 1927. Joseph Stoltz died on 24 July 1953 at age 65.

Joseph Stoltz
A resident of this vicinity most of his life, Joseph Stoltz, 65, Big Falls, died at 5:15 o'clock Friday afternoon at St. Michael's hospital.
Mr. Stoltz entered the hospital as a patient last Sunday and underwent major surgery on Tuesday. He had been ill for a week before at his home but had been active and working until then.
On Feb. 2, 1888, he was born in the Torun area, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Stoltz. He attended the parochial school of St. Mary's Catholic church, Torun, and remained at home until he was married, with the exception of two years when he worked out as a farm hand.
As a young man, he was married to the former Miss Genevieve Waldoch and the couple resided on the farms in the Torun and Hatley vicinities. She died while they were at Hatley.
In 1926, he was married to Mrs. Agnes Landowski (the former Miss Weronski) of the town of Stockton and they lived in Hatley for two years and moved to Stevens Point.
Mr. Stoltz operated a grocery store on the Public Square for a short tome and was employed by Joerns Brothers Furniture company for four years. The couple then moved to a farm in the Waupaca area and then to New Hope, remaining there for 13 years. For the past two years, Mr. and Mrs. Stoltz had lived near Big Falls.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes; two sons by the first marriage, Bruno and Stanley Stoltz, Galloway; one son by the second marriage, Harry Stoltz, Big Falls, and the following stepchildren:
Chris Landowski, Whiting; Mrs. Leo Wanta, Ellis; Joseph Landowski, Amherst Junction; Adolph Landowski, Scandinavia; Henry and Cyril Landowski, Milwaukee and Mrs Simon Dietenberger and Mrs. Hilbert Schwartz, Hartford.
He is further survived by three brother, Alex Stoltz, Stanley street, Felix Stoltz, 426 Stanley street, and Anton Stoltz, 511 North Illinois avenue; seven sisters, Mrs. Anton Schultz, 425 Franklin street, Mrs. Paul Hamerski, Mrs. John DeMares, Mrs. Frank Slowinski and Mrs. Donald Schauer, all of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Frank Szews, Birnamwood, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 9 o'clock Monday morning as St. Stanislaus' church, with burial to be made in Guardian Angel cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dzikoski funeral home from this evening until the time of services. Prayers will be recited there at 8 o'clock tonight and Sunday evening.

Burial was in Guardian Angel cemetery, with Rev. Leo Trojanowski in charge of committal services.

Mrs. Martha Szews
Mrs. Martha Szews, 87, a former Hatley resident, died this morning at Homme Home for the Aging, Wittenberg.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at the Schmidt-Shulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Florian's Catholic Church, Hatley. The Revs. S.R. Lengowski and George Szews will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday. St. Florian's Rosary Society, of which she was a honorary member, will pray at 7:30 p.m. and a parish rosary wil be said at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Szews was born Feb. 20, 1892, in Portage County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Stoltz. She married Frank Szews on Nov. 20, 1918, in Torun. The couple farmed in the Birnamwood area until moving to Hatley in 1952. He died Sept. 16, 1967.
Survivors include three sons, Leonard, Norbert and Eugene, Birnamwood; one daughter, Mrs. Florian (Alice) Zajackowski, Milladore; two sisters, Mrs. Sophie Hamerski, 1300 Briggs St., and Mrs. Tina Schauer, Milwaukee; 36 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
One daughter and one son preceded her in death.
Martha Stoltz died on 30 January 1980 at age 87.

Stoltz-Pionkowski
The wedding of Miss Mary Pionkowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Pionkowski of New Hope, to Felix Stoltz, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Stoltz of this city, took place at Sacred Heart church at Polonia at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. Rev. L. Pescinski, parish priest, Rev. F.A. Nowak of St. Stanislaus' church here and Rev. C. Ciezlewicz of Virginia, Minn., officiated. Flowers decorated the altar of the church. The wedding march was played by sisters of the school at Polonia.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attended by her sister, Miss Gladys Pionkowski, a sister of the groom, Miss Tillie Stoltz, and by Misses Mary Domaszek and Alice Burant. Groomsmen were Anton Stoltz, brother of the groom, Jerome Pionkowski, brother of the bride, Dr. Florian Ciezlewicz of Cincinnati, Ohio, a cousin of the bride, and Alex Burant. Little Irene Schutlz, a niece of the groom, was ring bearer and two cousins of the bride, Mary and Annette Ciezlewicz, were train bearers.
The bride's gown was of white satin and lace with a train embroidered with pearls. Her veil had a headdress fo pearls and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaids wore dresses of corn color, peach, yellow and orange georgette, and carried bouquets of pink and white carnations. The ring bearer wore pink satin and carried a white stain pillow. The train bearers were in yellow organdy.
After the ceremony a dinner was served at the bride's home at which the three priests were guests. A reception and dance as well as the dinner were enjoyed by members of 100 families.
The bride and groom will reside at the home of the groom's parents on Jordan road.
The groom is a foreman at the Joerns furniture factory.

Felix A. Stoltz
Felix A. Stoltz, 76, 2249 4th Ave., died this morning at River Pines Community Health Center. He had been a patient at St. Michael's Hospital since May 9, until entering River Pines on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus' Catholic Church. The Rev. Vaughn Brockman will officiate. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The St. Stanislaus' Holy Name Society, of which he was a member, will combine with the general rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Stoltz was born July 19, 1900, in the Town of Dewey, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Stoltz. He attended schools there and worked for the Vaughn Excavating Co., until 1925. He was then employed by the Joerns Furniture Co., where he worked in the shipping department until his retirement in 1965.
He married Mary Pionkowski on June 30, 1926, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. She survives.
Also surviving are three son, Tony, 712 Eastland Dr., Plover, Ted, 3627 Jordan Road, and Frank, Tyler, Tex; one daughter, Mrs. James (Theresa) Hintz, 2961 Oak St; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Szews, Birnamwood, Mrs. Clara DeMares, Milwaukee, Mrs. Sophie Hammerski (sp.), 1300 Briggs St., and Mrs. Tina Schauer, Milwaukee; and eight grandchildren.
Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Felix A. Stoltz
Felix A. Stoltz, 76, 2249 4th Ave., died this morning at River Pines Community Health Center. He had been a patient at St. Michael's Hospital since May 9, until entering River Pines on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus' Catholic Church. The Rev. Vaughn Brockman will officiate. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The St. Stanislaus' Holy Name Society, of which he was a member, will combine with the general rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Stoltz was born July 19, 1900, in the Town of Dewey, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Stoltz. He attended schools there and worked for the Vaughn Excavating Co., until 1925. He was then employed by the Joerns Furniture Co., where he worked in the shipping department until his retirement in 1965.
He married Mary Pionkowski on June 30, 1926, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. She survives.
Also surviving are three son, Tony, 712 Eastland Dr., Plover, Ted, 3627 Jordan Road, and Frank, Tyler, Tex; one daughter, Mrs. James (Theresa) Hintz, 2961 Oak St; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Szews, Birnamwood, Mrs. Clara DeMares, Milwaukee, Mrs. Sophie Hammerski (sp.), 1300 Briggs St., and Mrs. Tina Schauer, Milwaukee; and eight grandchildren.
Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Anton Stoltz was born on 21 June 1902. He was the son of Augustinus 'August' Johaan Stoltz and Frances Lukowicz. Anton Stoltz married Tekla Trzebiatowski on 23 June 1930. Anton Stoltz died on 14 March 1969 at age 66.

Mrs. Hamerski was born Sept. 29, 1897, in Torun. The former Jennie U. Stoltz, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Stoltz.
She spent her childhood in Stevens Point, then moved to Milwaukee. After a time there, she moved to Plover, where she lived for about 10 years, then returned to Milwaukee, where she lived for about 40 years.
She was married to Frank Hamerski, who prededed her in death, as did her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis of West Allis and Frank D. of Portland, Ore; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Dolores) Bartkowiak of Milwaukee, Miss Mracella of West Allis, and Mrs. Will (Ursula) Russell of West Milwaukee; one brother, Felix Stoltz, 2249 4th Ave; and five sisters, Mrs. Sophie Hamerski, 2312 Sims Ave., Mrs. Martha Szews of Hatley, Mrs. Clara DeMares of New Berlin, and Mrs. Rose Slowinski and Mrs. Tina Schauer of Milwaukee.
Mrs. Hamerski was a member of Christian Mothers.
