Edwin (Pat) Polebitski, 77, 3200 Water St., died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1992, at River Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He had been in ill health the past two years and a resident at River Pines for nine days.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Lynch will officiate and burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Polebitski was born May 26, 1915, in Stevens Point, a son of the late John and Pearl (Schultz) Polebitski. He attended St. Peter Grade School and graduated from Emerson High School. He then worked at various drug stores and Point Sporting Goods until going to work in the maintenance department at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1965. He retired in 1977. He lived on Water Street the past 20 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include a brother, Stanley 'Soo Line' (Jo), 2263 S. Highway P.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He was awarded the Distinguished Unit Badge with Bronze Cluster, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal, two Battle Stars, five Overseas Bars and the American Defense Service Ribbon. He was recalled to active duty during the Berlin Crisis from October 1961 to August 1962, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
He later made a career in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He retired in 1976 with the rank of chief warrant officer.
He served as clerk of the town of Linwood for 10 years.
Survivors include a son, Mark (Mary) Polebitski, Waupaca; a daughter, Mary (John) Jungbluth, Dubuque, Iowa; three stepdaughters, Patricia (Gary) Phillips, Wisconsin Rapids, Susan (Jim) Farrell, South Beloit, Ill., and Karen (Doug) Pagel, Wisconsin Rapids; two stepsons, David (Dorothy) Kluck, Stevens Point, and Dan (Colleen) Kluck, Rosholt; 26 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Polebitski was a member of Berens-Scribner Post No. 6, American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; one son, John, Custer; four brothers, Chester, Merrill, Edwin, 3200 Water St., Stanley, 2263 S. County Trunk P, and Jerome, 1212A 2nd St; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Sobish was born Sept. 10, 1950, in Stevens Point to the late Henry and Frances Sobish. He attended grade school in Stevens Point and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1969.
He was a Vietman War veteran entering the U.S. Army on March 12, 1970, in Milwaukee. He was a specialist 5th class with the 594th Transportation Company of the Third Army as a truck driver. He received the National Defense Medal, Sharpshooters Medal and the Marksman Badge. He was discharged Nov. 11, 1971, at Fort Campbell, Ken.
After the service he returned to Stevens Point and began working for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier until his death. He was married to the former Linda Schultz on June 1, 1974, at St. Mary Church of Torun. After the marriage, the couple settled at their present address.
Mr. Sobish was an active Pastoral Council member of St. Mary Parish, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers 381, a member of the Greater Polonia P.L.A.V. Post 185, and a member of the American Legion Post 6 of Stevens Point.
He enjoyed truck driving and rifle deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; one son, Jeremy, and one daughter, Holly, both at home; one brother, Jerry (Marilyn) Sobish, town of Hull; and two sisters, Loretta (Stephen) Tuszka, town of Hull, and Cheryl Sobish, town of Hull.

Born Nov. 22, 1902, in Torun, town of Dewey, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Frances Piotrowski. She attended schools in Dewey. She was married to George Schultz on May 1, 1926, at St. Casimir Church, Milwaukee. He died May 28, 1960.
After their marriage, the couple lived in Milwaukee for a short time before moving to Stevens Point. She worked at Normington's Laundry for 35 years. Mrs. Schultz was a member of the Catholic Woman's Club and the Secular Order of St. Francis.
She enjoyed traveling, bingo and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Leonard, Greenfield, George (Darlene), Galesberg, Ill., Dennis (Grace), Conway, Ark; five daughters, Irene (Joseph) Radar, Stevens Point, Lorraine (Doug) Simonis, Lake Tomahawk, Margaret (Dean) Baltz, Rockford, Ill., Elizabeth (Gregory) Knich, West Allis, and Nancy Schultz, New Berlin; 35 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Michael Piotrowski, Steven Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, four sisters and three brothers.

Elizabeth Schultz
Elizabeth Schultz, 91, formerly of 2141 Water St., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 1994, at the Portage County Health Care Center. She had been a resident there for the past three years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Dan Kiedinger will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Frienda may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Dzikoski/Pisarski Funeral Home. The Catholic Women's Club and Secular Order of St. Francis will combine with the general rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
