The funeral of Leon Ostrowski of Polonia was held this morning under the auspices of Charity court, No. 47. Catholic Order of Foresters of Custer. The service was held at Polonia, Rev. Thomas Grenbowski officiating. The deceased died Monday after a long illness with cancer. He was a farmer, 32 years of age, and leaves a widow and several small children. His brother, Max, proprietor of a hotel at Rhinelander, came down to see his brother before he died and remained to attend the funeral.

The ship arrived at the Port of Quebec. From there the family continued on and arrived at the Port of Milwaukee around June 1869.^3,4,5 Marianna Ostrowski appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Town of Sharon, Portage Co, WI, in the household of her parents, Casimer Ostrowski and Rosalia Czapiewska.¹ Marianna Ostrowski married Teofil Koziezkowski in 1873 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia, Portage Co, WI.^6,7 Marianna Ostrowski died on 2 March 1922 at Portage Co, WI, at age 68.⁸

     Mrs. Mary Koziezkowski, a resident of Portage county for 50 years, died at her home in the town of Sharon Thursday evening at 10 o’clock. Her death was caused by cancer of the stomach, with which she was afflicted for more than a year. She was 67 years of age. Mrs. Koziezkowski, whose maiden name was Mary Ostrowski, came to Portage county from Poland when a girl of 16. Shortly after her arrival here she was married to Teofil Koziezkowski. He died nine years ago at Sharon. Of the family, which originally numbered 16, there are three sons and two daughters remaining as follows: Dan, St. Paul: Frank, New Hope; Charles, Wausau; Mrs. Frank Kluck, Mrs. Charles Treczinski, Polonia. The following sisters and brothers also remain: Mrs. John Krucziski, Arnott; Alex, New Hope; Max, Reno, Nev; and Theodore, Rosholt. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 10 o’clock from Sacred Heart church at Polonia, Rev. L. J. Pescinski officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
