Norbert J. “Nubbs” Schultz, 56, 1617 East Ave., died at 7:10 p.m. Friday at St. Michael’s Hospital.
He had been in ill health for several months and was hospitalized for three weeks.
Mr. Schultz had been a paper inspector the last 23 years at the Whiting-Plover Paper Co. He was financial secretary of the Union at the Mill, Local 370, from 1958-61 and president from 1961-67
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 at St Josephs Catholic Church, with the Rev Leon Powell officiating., and burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dzikowski funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday. A general rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, with St John’s Court 1807, Catholic Order of Foresters, participating, Mr. Schultz was a member of the Foresters.
He was born in Stevens Poin,t Jan, 31, 1921, a son of the late Anton and Helen Schultz.
He attended St Peter’s grade school and graduated in 1939 from P.J. Jacobs high school.
From Aug 3, 1942 until Oct 6, 1945 he served in the Army. He was a tech 5, and was a teletype operator in the 89th Signal Company, serving in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe Campaigns,
After his discharge he returned to Stevens Point.
He was married August 21, 1948, at St Stephens Catholic Church to the former Lorraine Kabachinski. They have lived at their present address for 23 years.
Mr. Schultz is survived by his wife; four sons, Robert, Fairfield, Iowa, Joseph, Stephen and Kenneth at home; a daughter, Mrs. Joel (Jean) Shilcrat, Phoenix, AZ, two brothers, Tom 1217 Franklin St. and Barnaby, Green Bay; and three sisters, Mrs., Irene Okray, Route 2 Stevens Point, Mrs. Dorothy Behr, 632 4th Ave and Mrs. Edwin (Loretta) Kryshak 917 5th Ave.

She worked for Weber Tackle Co. and later worked as a photo finisher at Colorcraft in Stevens Point for 15 years before retiring in 1984. She enjoyed baking and rose gardening and she especially loved her grandsons. Loretta was a member of St. Peter's Rosary Society Rose 35 for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen (fiancee, Charles Erickson) of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandsons, Jonathan Hetzel of Weston and Casey Hetzel of Wisconsin Rapids; two brothers, Thomas (Dorothy) Schultz of Stevens Point and Barnaby Schultz of King; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Schultz of Stevens Point.
In addition to her parents and husband, Loretta was preceded in death by her brother, Norbert; and her sisters, Dorothy and Irene.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He entered military service Oct. 15, 1940, in Stevens Point. He served with the Headquarters Battalion in New Guinea with the rank of staff sergeant. He received the American Defense Service Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic/Pacific Theatre Ribbon, and one Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged on July 7, 1945, at Camp Chaffee, Ark
Mr Kryshak was married to Loretta Schultz on Aug. 2, 1948, at St Peter Catholic Church. She survives at home. After the marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point and have lived at the Fifth Street address for 42 years.
He worked for Journal Printing as s linotype operator for more than 36 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Stevens Point American Legion Berens-Scribner Post 6, and the Holy Name Society of St Peter.
Mr. Kryshak was an avid baseball fan and coached his grandson’s Little League Baseball team in Wisconsin Rapids last year. He also served as the assistant tennis coach at Pacelli High School and coached Little League in Stevens Point and Kellner.
Survivors include on daughter, Karen (Dave) Hetzel, Wisconsin Rapids; two grandsons; four sisters, Sister Mary Gerri Kryshak, Jean Shippy and Theresa (Fabian) Gladowsiki, all of Stevens Point, and Rita Neary, Glenview Ill; and two brothers, Frank Jr. (Elaine), Granada Hills, Calif., and Maurice (Marge), Wausau
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two infant brothers.
